Job Description

As member of the Oracle Payments Product Development team, you will be contributing to the engineering efforts using a variety of technologies to deliver amazing product features that align with our strategic vision and deliver amazing payments experience for our customers.

The Oracle Payments team is looking for a software engineer ready for a new challenge in the area of APEX (Oracle Application Express), PL/SQL development, Big Data, Data Modelling, ETL system development and all things to do with data in relational databases.

You will work with a fast-growing, action-oriented team of software engineers, test automation engineers, product managers and UX designers to build out new functionality and enhancements within the product. As a team, we use Agile methodologies to self-organize and deliver value at a rapid pace. This role requires an individual with superb communication, multi-functional management abilities, solid attention to detail and the comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience developing enterprise systems in key/value, columnar, NoSQL and Big data platforms would be advantageous but not essential.

Design and develop solutions which interact with various data sources, processing large volumes of data. The tech stack we will use includes APEX, Oracle DB, Linux, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Object Storage, Key/Value databases, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and more. The core skill for this job is APEX and PL/SQL.

The tech stack is easy to pick up but experience with the following will help you hit the ground running:

Expertise in using RAD tools like Oracle Application Express (APEX) will be a great plus
Deep expertise in JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 and knowledge in any one framework OJET is a plus.
Understanding of browser internals and a basic understanding of the network stack.
Understanding of common design patterns followed in Web Development
JavaScript
Basic awareness of application security practices and deployment techniques for front-end projects.
Should have sound knowledge in computer science fundamentals like data structure, object-oriented programming and possess excellent communication skills.
Programming in Linux/Unix, Data Modeling
PL/SQL
JSON / RESTful Web Services
Experience with debugging complex applications
Experience with creating/consuming RESTful web services
Knowledge in Machine Learning is a big plus.


[Backend]

Good understanding of multiple tech solutions and ability to pick the correct one for the given situation.
Integration of UI elements with server-side logic/framework.
Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability.
Implementation of security (SSO) and data protection
Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL.
Experience in at least one general programming such as Java/Python/NodeJS.
Experience in deployment related skills like nGinx & Docker
Proficient in versioning systems: Git


The candidate should have:

Solid understanding of software development roles, processes and procedures in the context of Web and Database development
Familiarity with Agile software methodology
Extensive interaction with the user community – both in terms of requirement analysis/gathering and post implementation support
Ability to troubleshoot performance issues, debug technical issues, understand product features and limitations.
Ability to balance multiple development tasks and assignments simultaneously
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Creativity and independent judgment in identifying and recommending process improvement
Resourceful and thoughtful use of company assets (data, tools)
Moderately complex problem solving requiring minimal assistance and guidance
Good communication skills as well as a positive attitude and a drive to lead the team.
4-8 Years of experience in building enterprise Web systems in RAD, Python, HTML, JavaScript (OJet), SQL, XML, Web Services and related technologies.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools/languages is a must.
Solid organizational, planning and tracking skills
In this role, duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment.


Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
