Job Purpose
The Associate Piping Engineer will work closely with other piping engineers and designers, provides input on piping specifications, procurement activities, field piping engineering, and construction while having a good approach to health, safety, and environment. In development mode being trained in the use of relevant regulations, codes, industry-standard practices for the development and the application of piping deliverables while gaining exposure to applicable procedures and processes.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
Business Development Support:
Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database.
Technical Competency:
Performs routine aspects of piping engineering activities including preparation of calculations and analyses (valve and pipe sizing), piping, and installation specifications requiring knowledge and application of basic piping principles under the supervision of the piping project lead and the section manager.
Project Execution:
Provides information and support on piping engineering to aid the project team in the proposal preparation, provide elements and inputs required by the piping lead such as bills of material, piping schematics, and layouts based on customer requirements and specifications to estimate piping work and activities.
Participates in workshops involving multi-engineering disciplines, vendors, and customers such as interactive planning sessions, site selection workshop, plot plan review, PFDs, and PIDs review, Constructability review, Internal and Client 3D model review (IMR & CMR).

Project Deliverables:
Gathers data from multiple sources and Interface with internal stakeholders: Process, Instrumentation, Electrical, Civil, and Structures, and Mechanical teams. Analyze and synthesize data collected (Licensor packages, Vendor data, Client documents...) and provides an accurate input to piping designers, piping stress, and material engineers.
Incorporates data collected into piping specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions. Check under the lead supervision the documents after editing and verify the adherence to the applicable work instructions, checklists, standard specifications, and project design basis.
Procurement Support:
Participates in the technical bid evaluation for piping and fittings components offers, evaluate vendors, proposals, requests, and documentation for sound piping engineering practice and conformance with established safety in design criteria, and recommend the offer approval or disapproval.
Site Support:
Supports field assignments and field walk-downs as required as well as assists field forces in resolving piping layout problems.
Observes constructed at field locations to ensure compliance with piping layouts and specifications, assist with field troubleshooting of piping systems.
