Energy and Security Group (ESG) is searching for qualified candidates for a Chief of Party for an anticipated USAID climate project in Morocco. To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, significant experience with USAID involving project management of climate, energy, water, or environmental programs, strong leadership and interpersonal skills needed to work in a fast-paced environment involving high-level government officials.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, management, and general technical leadership for the project across multiple program technical components.
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of technical activities, including the drafting of work plans, progress reports, annual reports.
Serve as the primary liaison with USAID/Morocco and project stakeholders, responding to technical, operational, and administrative matters.
Develop and maintain effective relations with Morocco government counterparts, private sector, local organizations, donors and other stakeholders to ensure achieve project objectives.
Manage program technical team and ensure the development of high-quality deliverables and technical support to beneficiaries.
Ensure program compliance with USAID and ESG rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree (or higher) in engineering, natural resource management, public policy, economics, business or another related discipline is preferred.
At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in senior program management roles, such as Chief of Party, including the direct supervision of professional and support staff and direct engagement of high-level government counterparts.
At least (10) years of experience (preferred) working on USAID or other donor-funded projects; direct working experience implementing programs in Morocco is a plus.
Experience in MENA and/or Morrocco.
At least five (5) years of experience implementing climate oriented projects.
Proven ability to work effectively with USAID mission, host country counterparts, and international donors.
French and English language proficiency is required
