Industry 4.0 within Lear Corporation is underpinned through the integration of intelligent digital technologies and analytical systems into manufacturing and industrial processes. Firstly, the successful project management and execution of industry 4.0 initiatives into our manufacturing operations. Secondly, the digital analysis and data gleaned from visual management systems ensuring Lear takes informed decisions across its wider business maximizing our operational efficiency whilst upholding the highest quality standards ensuring that Lear’s operational and financial objectives can be achieved.
Position overview:
A unique and great opportunity to join our team as part of an exciting project as Data Engineer has opened up.
As a data engineer you will be working with colleagues focused on understanding the operational Use Cases and Data scientists using ML models to deliver solutions to support business decisions. As a data engineer you will be responsible for the development of the data pipelines, their security, reliability, and efficiency; supporting industry 4.0 projects and the rollout of activities that are identified.
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of the EU&AF AME team, manage execution of data focused projects using Lear’s data analytics and application platform.
Participate in multiple projects from conception, route cause analytics and solution deployment
Supporting the creation of a user toolset to be deployed as a regional standard across Lear for analyzing and presenting data in a meaningful manor to senior management.
Generating large databases from various sources of both structured and unstructured data.
Using a range of programming languages to transform big data into datasets.
Transforming technical data into a manageable understanding to give recommendations and conclusions to stakeholders.
Understanding the phases of program and product delivery and being able to contribute expert analysis across the program lifecycle.
Working with technologies both new and old to integrate separate data feeds to transform and map into new scalable datasets.
Ensuring documentation and procedures are maintained and improved in accordance with internal practices (ITPM) and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Ensuring system optimization for all deployed resources.
Key skills
Expert level of knowledge of data warehousing and modelling practices.Proven experience developing data pipelines and ETL processes from disparate data sources.
High Level of knowledge of relational databases including SQL DML and DDL scripting and optimization.
Experience developing data operations using Python or Groovy.
Knowledge of data lineage, data mining, and data quality methodology.
Experience with dashboard and data visualization development.
Experience with Financial, Human Resource or Operational/ERP system data
Highly Desired Skills:
Cloud-based data platform experience (Palantir Foundry, Informatica PowerCenter, Alteryx, Boomi or similar cloud platforms).
Application UI development experience.
Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL Serer.
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors API, SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI),
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree qualification in Computer Science, Electronics or Systems / Software Engineering.
Experience working as part of an integrated data team.
Strong business analysis/requirements analysis skills.
Business Analysis.
Working within an Agile framework.
3-5 years’ experience of working within a multinational organization with international, cross functional teams.
2-5 years’ experience of working within data engineering or optimization to support a high volume manufacturing operation.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems, or comparable Electronic Discipline.
Experience working with data for ML purposes.
Attention to detail – ability to identify variations to defined equipment standards from specification through to delivery.
Highly self-motivated and target focused, being flexible in approach but without compromising on the long-term benefits.
Highly organized and analytical.
Proactive and strategic approach.
Lean thinker – understands the benefits of standardization and can explain clearly when challenged.
A proven methodical approach to problem solving.
Able to work with tight deadlines to meet business requirements.
