Your Role
EMEA Construction Project Manager will possess experience in real estate and construction project management, overseeing project execution and demobilisation activities to ensure the orderly completion of project scope in accordance Aptiv’s requirements. They are responsible for the feasibility analysis, design and execution of all construction (Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing) programs within the region.
Responsibilities:
Strategic and tactical management of construction delivery within EMEA region.
Liaise with Business Unit to gather, document and analyse project requirements
Provide estimates during the feasibility stage and communicate these to Project Stakeholders to allow sufficient CapEx budgets.
Develop a comprehensive specifications document which incorporates the Business Units requirements
Assist the Sourcing Team in determining a procurement strategy for each project by analysing the market’s technical/commercial capabilities and conditions. This includes evaluation of returned bids.
Value engineer when necessary to reduce specification without compromising on functionality.
Oversee project execution to ensure the project delivers on the Construction Pillar’s main KPI’s – Time, Cost, Quality
Evaluate and present the impact of all Business Unit or Contractor led change orders to scope, design, timing, cost.
Coordinate with various internal and external teams to support construction of Aptiv’s requirements
Influence project execution to remain in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures: Financial, Safety/Environmental, Regulatory, and applicable Government regulations.
Influence and maintain the safety culture within the staff and the design and construction resources they use to execute work. Actively engage in safety/environmental event reviews and corrective actions.
Any other tasks deemed relevant by management
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science
5+ years of experience directly managing and/or commissioning construction teams.
5+ years of General Contractor and Vendor Management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI’s) associated with construction and project execution.
5+ years of experience directly constructing manufacturing/commercial real estate
Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety and NFPA
Ability to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs and duration with no impact on quality and reliability.
