Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for managing the entire cost control effort on a project or a significant portion of an extremely large project. The Senior Cost Engineer generally reports directly to the Project Manager or the Project Controls Manager / Cost Manager on the project and may have one or more Cost Engineers reporting to them. The Senior Cost Engineer is able to tailor JESA's established systems and procedures to meet the specific cost control requirements of the project including establishing budgets, capturing commitments and expenditures, generating forecasts, and preparing analyses and reports. The Senior Cost Engineer may work in a corporate office and simultaneously work on multiple projects, or may be co-located as part of a dedicated project team either in an office or on site.The Senior Cost Engineer may be directly or indirectly responsible for supervising the work of more junior Cost Engineers, and provide a training and mentoring role.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
Assist during work-hour and staff forecasting with input from leads and Project Manager
Participate in Earned Value data analysis & reporting
Prepare and analyze the cost reports
Ensure the cash flow development, analysis, & reporting
Prepare and issue a special cost studies and prepare analysis
Assist when forecasting the estimate to complete based on an independent analysis of progress, productivity, work remaining and current commitments
Assist in the preparation of Margin Analysis and contingency
Education
BA or BS or equivalent related experience
Curricula: Arts, Sciences, Finance
Global Experience
8 years minimum
Specific Experience in the position
Minimum of 2 years in Cost or Estimating
