Project Financial Controller
Job Description
Missions
Ensure Financial closing, Responsible for accurate, timely reporting of Financial and non-financial KPIs of the Execution Center.
Monitor and challenge project performance (P&L, CCO GM evolution, etc) supporting Tender & Execution teams.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, local procedures and IFRS15
Advise Management and Execution Center Leader on key issues and priorities (risks / loss / opportunities) to achieve targets.
Scope & Environment
Reports solid line to Power System Cluster Finance Business Partner, and covers the Performance Scope relating to the Project Portfolio from Orders, Sales to DVC GM, including Over/under absorption, Upstream and all Project Portfolio.
In charge of the project portfolio of SEINT, an entity based in France serving African Markets and Islands (Carib, Indian Ocean, Pacific). Approximately 700 projects and 50me Yearly turnovers. You'll be in daily contact with Project Managers and finance colleagues over Maghreb & Ivory Coast.
Key responsibilities / activities
Ensure Financial closing on SEINT & SEF project business and Entity closing of SEF Africa (Topline & Gross margin scenario)
Ensure the quality & pertinence of data loaded in the Project Portfolio reporting.
Develop solid skills on SAP, to follow Projects performance. Drive Data Quality improvement for the execution teams (Budget in System and on time). Seek for improvement on the system.
Provide Finance Business Partner and Execution Center leader with financial performance data: Orders & Sales, portfolio analytics, backlog, margin slippage, risk provision, cash performance. Manage & follow up project business financial provisions.
As business partner during project Selling and Execution phases, support and challenge Tender/Project Manager in all relevant projects aspects with close focus/follow up on the finance activities (Revenue recognition, Margin, Cash, Forex, …) in order to improve individual project financial performance.
During Execution, participate and animate REL4 for the region; ensure REL 1/2/3 are in place in zones / countries. Help Finance & Execution team ensuring the implementation of the Financial governance as defined by the Global team : REL, KPIs, Risk & Contract, Solutions Guidelines
Be a trusted advisor of Execution leader. Highlight risks seen. Propose and support action plans to management.
Build strong relationship with Project Execution controller, Accounting teams & other finance members. Liaise with Tax, Treasury, Solution Risk Managers, Contract Managers, Contract administrators, Logistic on Projects related matters.
Implementation of all project controlling relevant rules, methods, processes and tools in accordance to Global Project Controlling requirements & IFRS.
Qualifications
Education: University and/or Business School : Master's degree or equivalent A level +5 years (either Engineering, Economics, or commercial high school degree)
Language: fluent in French, Good in English – Arabic is a plus
Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience in Finance & Control or Finance Project management environment. Experience in a Multi-cultural team environment is a plus.
Skills: Strong analytical skills to handle complex matters in a synthetic way. Strong communication skills to drive high performance and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
