Job Purpose

Main Scope/Responsibilities
Health & Safety:
Demonstrates full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety leadership by example
Oversees the safety plans for multiple contractors involved in the project.
Team Leadership:
Leads large cross-functional internal and external project teams and potentially other PMs. Teams are complex and typically comprised of multi-discipline, multi-locations and may include third-party/subcontractor team members.
Manages the sub-contractor processes including acquisition, scope, contract, administration and closeout.
Technical Expertise:
Applies knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering, procurement, quality control, etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project plan.
Establishes processes and protocols for the documentation and cost control of the project.
Financial/Contract Management:
Applies in-depth knowledge and understanding of client contract to the oversight and management of the project.
Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used with the project team and with the client.
Planning & Execution:
Develops complex project schedules and resource plans and requirements for all aspects of the project.
Interprets and understands all of the key elements of the project schedule (such as critical path, actual versus planned activities, etc.) to identify adverse trends and take correction action when required.
Applies forward planning with schedule to resource the project appropriately.
implements a clear review of lessons learned and how to implement potential changes into project delivery.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Develops and executes complex monthly KPI reports and other communication plans for clients and key stakeholders.
Communicates to client both positive and negative information and is able to advise and influence the best decisions for a project.
Risk Management:
Identifies potential risks or new risks as the project progresses and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans.
Applies excellent conflict resolution and political savvy to manage major conflict situations with a variety of individuals.
Has significant decision-making authority about issues resolution, project resources, scope implications, and budget.
Education
Engineer degree
Curricula: Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Process, Mining, …..or equivalent)
Global Experience
25+ years of extensive PM experience
Specific Experience in the position
Successfully demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects.Strong leadership skills, leading project teams and client relations.
International experience preferred and in some instances required.
Advanced degree and professional registration preferred (as applicable by location.) Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multi- LOB/Industry projects.
Professional registration required. Nominated by MOP or Operations Manager. Approved by GM.
