The Sales Specialist/Manager - Machine Control is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the
following:
Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviation
Provide tactical pre-sales support for sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support
Ability to articulate marketing activities plan
Engage with customers by providing product and application training; job site demonstrations, installation scheduling, assist in field troubleshooting and assist in product and solution installations
Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of our products and solutions
Translates customer problems and requirements into business solutions using existing hardware and software products/solutions and supports sales efforts for existing and prospective customers
Provide proactive support to customers, upskilling users periodically and upselling new solutions to existing customers by showcasing value
Share and communicate customer challenges and requirements to internal product development teams to enable translating into workable solutions
Installation team management / supervision function
Identification of potential new distributors for machine control; and by training, guiding and developing existing distributors to help grow their sales in the region
Provide market intelligence to product development teams on competitive products, solutions and activities
Negotiate sales contracts and associated product supply milestones
Represent in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Marketing
Communications Group
Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required
Liaise with Finance department for management of receivables
To ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company's Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE), Ethics & Compliance policies, etc.
Perform any other duties as requested by the Manager
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SPECIAL SKILLS
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred but not required
with at least 4 - 8 years of experience selling related product lines
Must have a good working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and E-mail
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently to solve problems, as they arise and under pressure and to deadlines
Extensive knowledge of machine control solutions
Strong presentation skills especially to groups and forums of customers
An aptitude for developing plans and strategies to succeed
A passion for achieving business goals and sales targets
A passion for superior product delivery and customer service and an appreciation for the need for a positive end-user experience
Ability to travel as required - there is a considerable amount of travel required to fulfil this role
Fluent in English and French and command over other regional languages will be an added advantage
