Job Title: Weaving Technician
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Weaving Department Supervisor, you will operate assigned Weaving Machines (Looms) at highest quality and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Follow all safety standards.
Operate assigned looms to produce fabric with minimal defects.
Operate assigned looms at highest efficiency.
Creel filling yarn.
Repair stops both warp and filling and restart loom.
Inspect fabric for any defects.
Repair cause of defect
Flag loom for Technician if repair requires additional attention.
Perform other duties assigned by Lead Person, Supervisor or Manager.
Work within a team
Work as an individual
Maintains safe and clean work environment and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE OF
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to set up, thread and operate weaving machines.
ABILITY TO
Read, write, and speak and understand in English, in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
Effectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
Manual dexterity – ability to tie knots.
Ability to walk, stand, kneel for long periods.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Visual ability to see fine details in:
Fabric
Loom Reed
Warp Ends
Ability to work within a team.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to draw warp ends through:
Drop wires
Heddles
Reed
Ability to use Weaving tools
Scissors
Reed Hook
Rubber Bands
Ability to use hand tools
Wrenches
Screw Drivers
Hammer
Other hand tools
Ability to use power tools
Ability to work with basic electronics
Ability to work with basic electrics
Pay attention to detail.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent hand, finger and wrist movement to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
Requires standing (100%) and walking (10%).
The employee frequently is required to talk, listen/use hearing, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, and/or use repetitive hand motions.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
Constantly lift up to 10 pounds, may frequently lift up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Constantly work under tight time constraints.
Occasionally work mandatory overtime.
May occasionally have exposures to extreme wet and/or humid conditions, heat/cold temperatures, and loud machine/equipment.
