Job Purpose
In Her/His field of expertise, SME provides technical advice and services on projects or directly to individuals that need advice
Main Scope/Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Related to his area of expertise, SME will:
- Act as the “go to” person within a department or function for questions and problems within his/her area of expertise
- Generate confidence with customers that we have the necessary expertise to address their complex problems
- Understand requisite knowledge that underlies effective decision-making and is able to describe where anomalies or flaws may occur in the decision-making for his/her area of expertise
- Define performance objectives and determine acceptable performance levels
- Provide complicated technical insight or lend His/Her specialized risk-management expertise
- Provide necessary guidance and required technical knowledge and expertise during the project life cycle
- Identify areas where technical solutions would improve business performance
- Ensure the consistency and quality of design inputs/outputs and assumptions;
- Ensure accurate representation of expertise prior to the distribution of technical solutions to end-users
- Ensure the use of the best practices, standards, regulations, and norms related to
- Provide advice to strategic studies and leverage new business based on skills and competence
- Manage, review, or challenge third-party consultants/specialists' output;
- Be recognized as SME in Worley SME network
- Provide Mentorship
- Lead or be an active participant in a workgroup with the need for specialized knowledge
- Maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, end-users, project managers, engineers, and senior staff members.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Improve the business performance by identifying the problematic areas and providing relevant technical solutions for them
- Ensure quality and consistency in the development/review of the design and assist with innovative learning solutions to meet project requirements
- Support the definition of work methods, processes, and policies, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes, and polices are applied
- Explain relevant technical information to stakeholders
- Ensure all technical solutions meet the specified requirements
- Provide input for the design, quality, and performance test requirements and procedure.
- Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of technical solutions
- Assist with Design & Engineering team to respond to customer's inquiries;
- Validate executed test results. Use and evaluate it for accuracy and usability, and provide feedback to the project team for test acceptance purposes.
- Participate in developing/reviewing operation readiness deliverables
- Guide other team members on the project to ensure the content is accurate
- Resolve issues relevant to project deliverable(s) within their area of expertise
- Provide inputs to the project risk register and regularly review it
- Conduct Design & Engineering Technical Peer Reviews
- Assist with Design and Engineering team within his/her area of expertise through different project phases
- Assists in the development of screening criteria and assessment
- Identify and drive Benchmarks, research, and Innovation initiatives related to Technologies, Products, Processes, Materials, and related suppliers
- Be updated continuously on norms, standards, regulations, and best practices
- Performs due diligence
- Manage in a good & efficient manner relationships with third-party consultants/specialists/ R&D partners
- Develop/ knowledge transfer plan and provide training
- Provide training and appropriate coaching to enhance Design & Engineering group team capabilities
- Write and edit training materials, user manuals, and other documentation
- Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making
- Publish papers
Education
Education (Bachelor/Master/Ph.D): Engineering Degree or Ph.D
Curricula: One of the E&D Engineering Disciplines or R&D specialist
