Job Purpose
Under supervision, performs a variety of assignments through the application of basic mechanical engineering theories, techniques, and practices. In development mode being trained in the utilization of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry-standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables while gaining exposure to procedures and processes. Starting level position following defined processes and precedents to complete assigned tasks with increasing independence specific to mechanical engineering. Support the mechanical department activities on project execution.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
Business Development Support:
Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database.
Business Operations:
Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences & be responsible for a smooth handover.
Supports the delivery of training: assists senior engineers in developing the content of the training.
Gain knowledge of and compliance with requirements and JESA internal processes.
Works to resolve interdisciplinary, vendor, and customer issues under supervision.
Follows instructions to ensure discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
Accomplishes department activities as assigned by the Department Head.
Technical Competency:
Supports adherence to generally accepted engineering and mechanical design codes and standards, regulatory requirements, ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, DIN, CEMA, etc. and customer specifications.
Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
Supports the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
Understand & apply SOP'S, work instructions, checklists, standard specifications & design basis during the execution of projects.
Project Execution:
Working under close supervision, knows the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
Needs to fill timesheets on time.
Ensure some Project Execution activities as assigned by Mechanical Lead.
Main Scope/Responsibilities (continued)
Project Deliverables:
Preparation of Mechanical Datasheet, Specification, Technical Requisition under close supervision.
Prepare design calculations for Tanks, Pressure Vessels, and Conveyors under supervision.
Check the plans and documents prepared by the designers.
Assist in Preparation of inquiry and order specifications for mechanical items, which includes pressure vessels, package equipment, tanks, pumps, and compressors of all types, agitators, various material handling equipment such as belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screens, ball mills, etc...
Assists on Performing Technical bid evaluation for the mechanical items, which includes pressure vessels, package equipment, tanks, pumps, and compressors of all types, agitators, various material handling equipment such as belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screens, ball mills, etc...
Review Vendor documents including, drawings, specifications, calculations.
Procurement Support :
Under the supervision of the Mechanical Project lead, incorporates information from multiple sources into equipment/material specifications, datasheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions.
Under the supervision of the Mechanical Project lead, participates in bid clarifications prepares bid evaluations, completes inter-discipline vendor information review and approval, and finalizes other certification activities.
Site Support :
Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, may participate in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and incorporates requirements into engineering/design.
Works with site personnel to resolve issues from office and site.
May create plans or documents that support construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
May provide on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over.
Education
Engineering Degree (graduate or postgraduate)
Curricula: Mechanical Engineering or similar
