Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts.
They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required.
They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Core Team Member NPI (Manufacturing/Procurement)
Representing the function of CTM NPI in development of new projects in terms of processes and related tools and components.
End-to-end procurement and tool & process management responsibility for type II projects from the sourcing process until SOP
Tasks & Responsibilities
Active participation in the interdisciplinary Core Team (Regional and Global, with Sales & Project Management, Engineering, Finance and Quality) in the development process of new products and manufacturing processes, provide outputs and deliverables according LEANPD
Overall coordination and active concurrence in the complete manufacturing processes (molds / dies / assembly / supplied components & processes), which can be at internal suppliers or at external suppliers - focus on technology and procurement tasks
First assessment of tool related requirements and concepts, including voice of customer and operations
Moderate concept discussions with suppliers and manufacturing engineering for best cost and quality results
Detailed alignment with all competencies for project specific specifications for internal and external needs
Prepare calculation input for finance: gather all process related technical inputs (cycle times, number of cavities, efficiency, number of operators needed, invest needed (CAPEX), hours manufacturing needed, change over times, lot sizes,…), so that Finance can create the P&L (Profit & Loss Calculation) and CER (Capital Expenditure Request)
Tool and equipment orders: support LOI, LON, PR, PO, WBS, DIS
Follow up the timing of all the toolings & components: create a project plan for all processes & components due to TE related and customer timelines
Transfer new products and processes to manufacturing: plan the ramp up with operations already in an early phase
Guide and support the SOP at the final production location and organize needed support and after-care from suppliers
Prepare input for project reviews for the CTL...
What your background should look like :
Industrial Master, Bachelor or Master of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or significant business & work experience
Branch of studies / experience: tooling, molding, stamping or assembly processes
3-5 years engineering in automotive, preferably process or product engineering or manufacturing engineering
Broad technical understanding and experience in tooling/ molding/ assembly and/or stamping processes
5+ years experience in automotive business
Expertise in Project management
Expertise in procurement competencies is preferable
Excellent analysis and problem solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multi-tasking
French and English at negotiation level, other languages are a plus
Basic knowledge automotive standards (APQP, IATF 16949)
Experience in working with multicultural and cross functional groups..
