Role Purpose

The position holder is accountable for driving the commercial value of products through development and implementation of adapted market access strategies (including but not limited to health economic, pricing and advocacy activities), allowing sustained brand value maximization by an optimized access to NWA markets (including but not limited to desired reimbursement status and optimal pricing in NWA)
Key team member, the position holder will contribute to strategic and operational business direction with the objective of maximizing the overall business development and growth opportunities sizing, by being dedicated to the entire process of identifying to closing deals with like-minded partners, who share our quest to transform treatment paradigms for patients and improve their lives
The position holder will run MACS & BD chapter in a non-hierarchical agile way utilizing new ways of working, provide inspirational and future-oriented people leadership for chapter members with a commitment to talent development and skill enhancement.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Optimize access to markets across the cluster:
// Lead the implementation of a sustainable Access strategy per country & coordinates Market Access requirements for NWA
// Explore and identifies key stakeholders in-market and establishes relationships with key influencers and decision makers to facilitate broader and deeper market access for new products and to keep market access for existing products
// Build and leverage strong networks and relationships with key customers, key opinion leaders and individual and institutional key decision makers, to optimize the positioning of Bayer products, facilitate the co-creation of value propositions for customers
// Analyze market access trends/health policy changes and continuously map requirements for on market products.
// Anticipate access barriers and cost containment risks & optimize overall pricing strategy; supports developing overarching lifecycle management pricing strategies, evaluates price changes and supports proactive & reactive pricing decision in cooperation with Country Market Access & Business development Managers and Regional Market Access
// Ensure net price confidentiality and compliance to all local and Bayer regulations and polices for pricing/price reporting of pharmaceutical products
// Optimally achieve new and maintain actual reimbursement of Bayer products in NWA
// Anticipate tender publication, identify opportunities for tender participation & bid submissions
// Craft optimal proposals based on environment insights to succeed bidding and achieve tender attribution
// Be a point of contact for internal stakeholders & Regional Market Access teams to provide status, information and address MACS topics.
// As needed, represent company in local pharma associations to follows up NWA pharmaco-political developments and drive reimbursement/access enabling policies
Optimize business development reflection and execution of successful strategies for our go-to-market organization:
// Identify new opportunities in existing and future markets and drive and manage the seizure of these opportunities (as needed internally and/or externally).
// Develop, propose and implement appropriate go-to-market & business strategies to foster (organic or inorganic) growth and/or improve financial results
// Coordinate all local and international efforts for successful deal closure (including licensing, tooling, & secondary & primary local manufacturing deals)
// Develop and maintain strategic long-term trusting relationships with targeted stakeholders to support Institutional and Brands messaging.
// Drive Tailored Made Narrative Stories linked with Customers’ and Bayer’s KPI’s achievement including Claw-Backs, Receivables, R&D and products’ introduction status, contracting value solutions and partnerships (risk-sharing agreements, pre-reimbursement access programs), among others.
// Liaise between customers, authorities, key stakeholders, partners and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs.
// Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly objectives to internal stakeholders; identify areas of concern and assist in generating solutions
// Promote and publish the company and its activities by means of building and sustaining relationships with customers, suppliers, and organizations important to the company and its potential for profitable growth.
// Monitor marketplace trends and changes so that the company may remain able to response to any challenge that may be presented.
// Maximize on market opportunities, creative value proposition, and adapt innovative market entry.
Overarching tasks:
// Lead the MACS & BD chapter & team with diverse skill sets and backgrounds to ensure excellence and optimal results delivery
// Provide inspirational and future-oriented leadership to NWA MACS & BD team, fostering a co-creation mindset and in line with Be Entrepreneur behaviors
// Ensure alignment with the Nucleus Lead to allocate resources to the respective Nucleus and ensure well balanced resource capabilities in both quality and quantity - Resolve potentially conflicting objectives coming from different Nuclei in alignment with CDH
// Recruit, develop, and coach talent as functional expert, to ensure appropriate skill level and manages the performance of chapter members including recognition of high performing members and managing of low performing members using appropriate and available tools.
// Provide an environment that promotes open communication, honest feedback and teamwork built around empathy, trust and achievement within the chapter as well as for the whole organization in general

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
// University degree in science or business administration
// At least 10 years’ experience in the innovative pharmaceutical industry, expertise in market access HEOR, price negotiations
// Proven track of leadership and negotiation skills
// Fluent in English
// Deep knowledge and understanding on the healthcare system
// Strong business sense to identify opportunities and win-win solutions with customers, conduct financial analysis and support on commercial and tender strategies, contribute to products hospital/tender introduction and uptake.
// Result oriented mindset. Driver for performance.
// Ability to interface effectively with external and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
// Strong analytical skills & a solid ability to understand complex and matrix environment.
