As a Project Finance , you will be expected to :
• Support accounting services and assets and be a point of contact for all financial reporting or accounting issues
• Review and challenge the annual financial statements and quarterly management accounts received from SPV or assets and provide a performance summary to feed into our client financial reporting requirements
• Monitor SPV's financial controls and procedures on an ongoing basis
• Support the timely submission of financial statements and tax returns for all SPV's and assets
• Undertake financial due diligence which includes: reviewing historical financial information of target investee companies; challenging and obtaining support for any inconsistencies; and preparing a report of findings on a project-by-project basis. The report will summarise financial performance, identifying any anomalies together with presenting key financial ratios and commenting on specific trends.
• Develop, assist and review the preparation of SPV finance related management policies, including finance manual and treasury policy
• Be a first point of contact for our African offices including liaising with our accounting service providers to ensure the timely submission of financial reporting
• Assist in the preparation of Group and subsidiary financial statements. Supporting with Kenyan tax filings / queries as needed.
• Update working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information to check SPVs are tax compliant in all jurisdictions that they operate in, maintaining relationships with tax advisors as required.
• Supporting the Finance Manager in SPVs and operating assets (with input from the Business Development and Asset Management teams)
• Support the modelling of our client three-year business plan including forecast cashflows, profit & loss and balance sheet statements
Experience & Qualifications :
• Be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA) preferably having trained with a top-tier audit firm
• Have strong technical and IFRS knowledge
• Have experience working within a finance function, preparing and quality assuring financial statements and management accounts
• Be experienced at critically reviewing financial statements
• Be able to work as part of a virtual, global team
• Have strong Excel, report writing and communication skills
• Have an interest in infrastructure and our work in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in your previous roles
