Job Purpose
The Piping Engineer develops piping deliverables, provides calculations, defines piping materials, and performs engineering analysis that supports design requirements independently with minor supervision. Provides piping inputs on procurement deliverables, field piping engineering, and construction while having a good approach to health, safety, and the environment.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
Business Development Support:
Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database.
Technical Competency:
Uses knowledge of the general application of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards to perform piping activities and design of less complex systems.
Performs piping engineering activities including preparation of calculations and analyses (valve and pipe sizing), piping, and installation specifications requiring knowledge and application of piping codes and standards (Such as ASME, API, PIP...) under the supervision of the piping project lead and the section manager.
Project Execution:
Supports piping project lead, in the on-going determination of project requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets. Participates in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling activities for assigned projects.
Participates in workshops involving multi-engineering disciplines, vendors, and customers such as interactive planning sessions, site selection workshop, plot plan review, PFDs, and PIDs review, Constructability review, Internal and Client 3D model review (IMR & CMR).
Participates in quality and technical audits. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and adopt Safety Loss Prevention principles.

Project Deliverables:
Prepares and reviews piping engineering studies such as piping material specifications, Valve datasheets, piping general specifications, and stress calculations. Review and interface with suppliers and contractor data to assure specifications and project requirements are met.
Checks and reviews with designers the completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Identify improvement opportunities and integrate piping engineering best practices.
Participates in the design of major components and less complex piping systems, develop basic and preliminary data and notes necessary to present design proposals.
Procurement Support:
Participates in the technical bid evaluation for piping and fittings components offers, evaluate vendors, proposals, requests, and documentation for sound piping engineering practice and conformance with established safety in design criteria, and recommend the offer approval or disapproval.
Site Support:
Supports field assignments and field walk-downs as required as well as assists field forces in resolving piping layout problems.
Observes constructed at field locations to ensure compliance with piping layouts and specifications, assist with field troubleshooting of piping systems.

Engineer (Bac+5)
Curricula: Mechanical Engineering or similar
Global Experience
2 to 4 years
Specific Experience in the position
Project piping engineering experience, Oil & Gas Engineering, Mining, Chemical and Petrochemical.
