Job Purpose
Senior-level position following defined processes and precedents to complete assigned tasks with complete independence specific to mechanical engineering. Independently prepares design layouts and drawings of higher complexity in line with standards and clients' needs. Independently utilizes relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry-standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables with mastery of procedures and processes. Applies experience-based concepts and creates alternative solutions. May be called upon to supervise or coordinate design work done by a group of designers on a project.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
Business Development Support:
Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database.
Business Operations:
Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences & be responsible for a smooth handover.
Ensures own and discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
Accomplishes department activities as assigned by the Department Head.
Technical Competency:
Expertly applies generally accepted engineering and mechanical design codes and standards, regulatory requirements, ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, DIN, CEMA, etc. And customer specifications to the drawings of higher complexity and detail.
Able to create complex material handling scheme drawings and layouts with only initial input from Engineers.
Creates alternative solutions based on their own knowledge and experience.
Has expert knowledge of and compliance with requirements and JESA internal processes.
Supports the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
Can detect discrepancies in connected drawings and documents and resolve them with Mechanical engineers and other disciplines
Ensures application of SOP'S, work instructions, checklists, standard specifications & design basis during the execution of projects.
Independently develop 3D models of equipment.
Able to make workhour estimates for design tasks and deliverables for the Mechanical team on a project.

Project Execution:
Knows the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations.
Estimate the time and effort required for different design tasks and deliverables.
Guides other designers in making design deliverables
Needs to fill timesheets on time.
Project Deliverables:
Preparation of complex Mechanical guide drawings and detailed drawings for Tanks, Pressure Vessels, and Conveyors independently.
Preparation of complex Mechanical equipment layouts plans and sections, material handing schemes with minor guidance.
Independently review interfaces with Vendor documents and other disciplines.
Independently develop 3D models of equipment and coordinate effectively with engineers and other disciplines.
Contributes to the development of the technical knowledge of the designer's teams
